OUTREACH EVENTS
Bringing Ocean Safety
to Every Community
School presentations, community workshops, and beach outreach events across all Hawaiian islands.
How We Engage Communities
We advance freediving and spearfishing safety through community education, Shallow Water Blackout awareness, public outreach, and youth development programs that support safer ocean recreation.
Community Workshops
All ages welcome
Interactive 2-hour presentations focused on Shallow Water Blackout awareness, freediving safety, spearfishing safety, buddy practices, and practical risk management for ocean users.
Community Outreach
Active ocean users
Meet the FreediveSafe team at community events, ocean festivals, fishing tournaments, conservation events, and beach gatherings where we share safety resources and engage directly with the public.
Youth Development
Youth ages 11-18
Inspired by the legacy of Justin Lee, we support youth through freediving certification scholarships, mentorship, and opportunities that foster safe, responsible participation in spearfishing and Hawaiʻi’s ocean communities.
Educational Resources
Community groups
Free Shallow Water Blackout awareness materials, educational videos, youth spearfishing guides, and downloadable safety resources that extend learning beyond workshops and events.
