Since 2020, FreediveSafe Community Spearfishing Safety Workshops have brought lifesaving ocean safety education to communities across Hawaiʻi.

Designed to be delivered almost anywhere—with or without power—our workshops can be hosted in community halls, parks, beaches, schools, and outdoor gathering spaces, making it easy to bring essential safety education directly to the people who need it most.

Open to all ages and accommodating groups of up to 100 participants, each workshop focuses on the topics that matter most to Hawaiʻi’s diving community: freediver blackout awareness, buddy rescue skills, ocean safety, and sustainable spearfishing practices.

Our mission is simple: make critical safety knowledge accessible before an emergency happens. Through engaging presentations, practical demonstrations, and open discussion, participants leave with a better understanding of how to recognize risk, prevent incidents, respond effectively in an emergency, and care for Hawaiʻi’s marine resources.

Whether we’re working with schools, community organizations, clubs, or local events, every workshop strengthens our shared culture of safety and stewardship.

Together, we’re empowering Hawaiʻi’s communities with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy the ocean more safely—for themselves, their dive partners, and future generations.
