Our sole mission is to combat the growing rate of "Missing Diver" headlines, freediving and spearfishing-related fatalities, and to improve the safety of our ocean community as a whole.

This weekend’s FreediveSafe Hawai'i youth course

This weekend’s FreediveSafe Hawai'i youth course was a huge success! We now have 20 local youth that will be diving with proper freediving supervision and know how to prevent and manage shallow water blackout! This was a big accomplishment and despite how much work it was, I'm happy we did it, so proud of these kids and ready to do it again soon! Freediving and spearfishing accounted for 50% of a

Freediving and spearfishing accounted for 50% of all Hawai'i resident fatal ocean incidents between January and July 2020 (State of Hawaii, Department of Health).

As the sport continues to grow in popularity, so does the urgency to ensure freediving/spearfishing safety training is widely available to our island community. This training specifically addresses low oxygen related incidents and key safety protocols for Safe! diving. It applies to every single diver, no matter the depth or experience.

Our next FREE event will run on July 31-August 1, 2021 in Kona and is targeted at 12-22 year olds. Help us spread the word, and together we can make this sport safe and enjoyable for everyone!
