Perpetuate the spirit generational responsibility by participating in a FreediveSafe! Hawaii program.
FreediveSafe! events are open to all freedivers or spearfisherman. If you hold your breath and swim underwater, you are invited to join our program! These are free programs to the public paid for by donations. We provide formal freediving safety training to everyone. Our team of professional, highly trained, certified freediving instructors with Freediving Instructors International (F.I.I.) lead our programs and ensure all participants receive the highest level of freediving safety training.
FII Basic Freediving Safety program is conducted over four hours with a minimum of four participants. The curricular includes a two hour freediving safety presentation and two hours of confined water practical training. Students will need to bring a mask, snorkel, wetsuit and fins for the practical training. We are happy to provide any of the gear for you, just let us know! Minimum age is 12-years-old and older. All participants will complete the FII Liability Release and Medical Release e-forms via Signable. Participants under 18 years must have both legal guardian(s) complete these forms (we will request their full names and email addresses).
Our team of professional, highly trained, certified freediving instructors provide the highest level of freediving safety training available. The Basic Freediving Safety course introduces students to proper freediving supervision and basic safety and rescue procedures used in recreational freediving and speafishing.
This program should be viewed as a minimum requirement for everyone participating in any form of freediving. It could save your life or the life of your dive buddy one day.

This course sets the next generation of freedivers/spearfishermen on the best and safest path to enjoy this sport. Students will build protective habits, advance their watermanship skills and knowledge, and learn how to be responsible freedivers and spearfishermen.

This training is a must for your child to have the most effective experience in learning proper freedive safety techniques. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children.
A professional freediving instructor will provide groups with an educational presentation customized to the needs of the group. Aiming to reach every diver in every local community, we believe no one is too young or too old to learn from this information.
