What to Expect

FII Basic Freediving Safety program is conducted over one day. The curricular includes a three hour freediving safety presentation and two hours of confined water practical training. Students will need to bring a mask, snorkel, wetsuit, weight belt and fins for the practical training. We are happy to provide any of the gear for you, just let us know! Minimum age is 12-years-old and older due to our current insurance age restrictions. All participants will complete the FII Liability Release and Medical Release. Participants under 18 years must have one legal guardian co-sign the participation waivers.

Freediving Safety presentations are available to any club, school or community group. Our professional freediving instructor will provide your group with a 40 minute presentation on the risks associated with breath-hold related activities (spearfishing, freediving, surfing), how to minimize these risks and learn the correct approach for divers and communities to safely enjoy freediving/spearfishing. Presentations are adapted to group and age level and we believe no one is too young or too old to hear this information.
