Perpetuate the spirit of generational responsibility by participating in a FreediveSafe! Hawai’i program. Modern freediving and spearfishing safety education empowers our ocean communities to stay safe and enjoy the sport responsibly.

WHO SHOULD REGISTER

FreediveSafe! events are open to all freedivers or spearfisherman. If you hold your breath and swim underwater, you are invited to join our program! These are free programs to Hawaii residents. We provide formal freediving safety training to everyone. Our team of professional, highly trained, certified freediving instructors lead our programs and ensure all participants receive the highest level of freediving safety training.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our initiatives play a vital role in spreading awareness about the risks associated with breathhold activities, fostering a sense of responsibility within our our local Pacific Island community. We strive to make learning about safety engaging, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone involved. Our programs not only emphasize the importance of responsible participation but also provide materials that empower our dive community with valuable knowledge to pass down for generations to come.

Freediving Safety presentations are available to any club, school or community group. Our professional freediving instructor will provide your group with a 40 minute presentation on the risks associated with breath-hold related activities (spearfishing, freediving, surfing), how to minimize these risks and learn the correct approach for divers and communities to safely enjoy freediving/spearfishing. Presentations are adapted to group and age level and we believe no one is too young or too old to hear this information.
